'Lost Edges' is a term in painting for blends which are so soft you cant see where one colour starts and the next begins (the other two terms being 'soft' or 'hard' edges).
There's something about it which nods to the transmutations that occur in our memories over time, details shift and different moments get lumped together by the things they share, like location or emotion.
