There's always a selection of small panels and canvasses dotted around the edges of the studio that take on excess paint from the larger pieces. Not as a dumping ground, the aim is still to make a compelling image. Usually they become seeds for a new direction that needs it's own focus but in this case, it landed out of the blue.
